Although I do not own an iPhone 3G S (yet) to confirm this issue, many iPhone 3G S, users are reporting overheating issues with the device, which is apparently dramatically affecting battery life. According to a post on the forum site in Chinese WeiPhone, 3GS iPhone can play both 720p and 1080p video encoded in H.264 through a built-in video player. Since the 3GS not normally play 1080p, this leads us to believe that it may simply have been disabled by Apple in order to preserve battery life or make it more similar to the previous iPhones.
