First iPhone 3GS Specific App Launched - Metal Detector

E-mail Print PDF

I think 'Metal Detector' app will be the first iPhone app that is made to work for iPhone 3GS. Metal Detector app uses the iPhone information obtained from the compass to estimate the strength of the magnetic field observed, and then detects increases in strength that occur when the iPhone is placed near a ferromagnetic metal (like steel or iron) . Cool idea.

Many contain metal oxides (such as Lodestone or magnetite) that may cause measurable changes in the reading of a magnetic compass.

Give it a try. The price of this app has just been dropped from $0.99 to zero. Here is the  link to download from Metal Detector (iPhone 3G S) .

Spotlight search, a feature of high-profile OS 3.0 introduced last month, allows you to search for contacts, appointments, music, mail, and more without the burden of their applications. In other words, it saves time. In theory. Confession time: I have not touched Spotlight once since installing OS 3.0 on my 3G.
