Here in the US of A iPhone owners enjoy unlimited data from AT&T bundled into their already high monthly plans, but beware. How to place informational widgets on your iPhone

SmartScreen is an applictaion for the iPhone and iPod Touch that lets you place informational widgets on your iPhone’s lock screen, and the widgets have a similar look to the ones on Apple’s dashboard.

The SmartScreen iPhone App has been developed by a company called MediaPhone, who will also be releasing an SDK for it so users and developers will be able to program their own widgets, check out the video of it in action after the break.

Major, minor iPhone 3.1 upgrade problems and how to fix them

A number of iPhone Atlas readers, and more numerous in the Apple discussion boards have reported a group of problems - some large, some small - after updating to iPhone OS 3.1. The next two working procedures for resolving some of the problems identified:

* Restart your iPhone by holding the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo.
* Restore the iPhone: In iTunes, click the Reset button on the Summary tab. Restore the phone to erase contacts, calendars, photos and other data on the phone, but will restore automatically backed up the information as text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, configuration widget, etc. Of course, make sure that a backup of your phone before the restoration.
